Health and Healing Ministry
Health Ministry at Our Savior's...
- reclaims the mission of Christ to “preach the kingdom of God and to heal.” (Luke 9:2)
- recognizes that the mission of the church community is to proclaim God’s desire that we all have abundant life.
- reaffirms and supports the journey toward wholeness in the relationship of body, mind and spirit.
To accomplish this ministry, Our Savior’s has a parish nurse, a Health Ministry Committee, many volunteers, and several health ministry programs.
Parish Nurse
Parish nurses seek to bridge the gap between faith and health. This is accomplished through education, health counseling, pastoral care, volunteer coordination, health & community resource linkage, and advocacy—all built upon a spiritual foundation.
Health Ministry
Our Savior’s Health Ministry seeks to promote the well-being of our faith community by encouraging “individuals and groups to move toward the stewardship of health through education, health promotion, screenings, caring, healing and outreach.”
Programs and Opportunities
Care Ministry
A ministry of caring in many ways…through visits to members in their homes, assisted living or other settings, phone calls, assisting with community worship services, transportation, etc. Grief Ministry provides follow-up with families for one year following the death of a loved one.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
This ministry is one of loving hearts and hands. The knitter or crocheter prays for the recipient as the needles create a warm shawl that brings both warmth and spiritual comfort. Prayer shawls are given to members and non-members in time of need as a reminder of God’s constant love and presence. Contact: Kathi Lehmann.
Kitchen Ministry
Comfort foods (casseroles, soups, cookies) are prepared at church with a friendly group. Frozen meals are then shared with members in time of need. Contact
